Producer Don Jazzy would rather stay away from the much publicised debt mess of D’banj.
Don
Jazzy has a long history with the Koko master. The duo founded the
defunct Mohits records in 2004, and proceeded to release a number of
successful albums including D'banj's No Long Thing, Rundown and The Entertainer.
But
an acrimonious split in 2012 made them go separate ways, launching
their separate imprints and releasing music. Don Jazzy has since found
success with Mavin Records, with D’banj experiencing mixed fortunes with
his DB Records.
When asked by a fan on twitter to
confirm is D’banj is really in a debt situation, the Mavin boss
deflected the question, replying with an answer totally unrelated to the
question.
“I am more concerned bout ur avatar bro. “@mutiuman:@DONJAZZY pls I need ur answer is dbanj really broke.””
D’banj
is reportedly set to appear in court tomorrow Monday, January 26, 2015,
but due to an on-going strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria
(JUSUN), the case may be adjourned.
The star was last seen in Zurich, Switzerland, where he attended the world economic forum.
