In a bid to punish his girlfriend for breaking up with him, Ekuase Sunday, plotted her kidnapping.
The 25-year-old connived with his friends who went to the girl’s house and abducted her.
Sunday was arrested after police got a tip of his plans with and was one of the suspects paraded before newsmen in Benin.
Speaking to newsmen at the parade, Sunday revealed that he planned the kidnapping so as to teach her a bitter lesson.
Sunday revealed that a friend of his named Amas was the one who suggested the kidnapping.
“Amas
said it would be unfair for the girl to break with me. We agreed that
we would take the girl for four days so that she would learn a lesson. I
went to their house and was told four guys came to take her away. I
went to the family house and I was arrested and up till now I have not
seen Amas,” Sunday said.
The Edo State Police commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo disclosed that the suspect would be charged to court soon.A Edo State Police also recently paraded a 57-year-old who allegedly raped the 98-year-old mother of his landlord in Benin.
