It’s a special day in Nigeria today, March 28,
2016 – citizens in West Africa’s most populous country have waited for
six weeks to decide who will lead them for the next four years.
The
Presidential elections hold in all 36 states of the country and the
Federal Capital Territory – the outcome will affect the whole of the
African continent.
The incumbent Goodluck Jonathan
under the political umbrella of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is
facing his strongest challenge from former military leader and Muhammadu Buhari who is running for the fourth time,
Buhari is running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party bent of overthrowing the ruling party (PDP) who has dominated Aso Rock since 1999.
The polls open at 7AM – Nigerians are already trooping out in numbers to cast their votes.
